Read an important update on how we're recording free school meals awards for P6 and P7 pupils whose parents are in receipt of the Scottish Child Payment.
Free school meals for P6/P7 pupils
Following our previous post about the rollout of awards to P6 & P7 pupils whose parents are in receipt of the Scottish Child Payment (SCP), we're aware that the method we planned to use for recording these awards using the Authority tab on the pupil record does not integrate with ParentPay - so they are not included when you upload the latest awards to ParentPay. This means parents would still be charged despite being awarded.
Therefore we will be approving awards in the same way we do for income-based FSM awards.
The box 'P6/P7 in Receipt of SCP' in the Authority tab will still be ticked, but please note we will no longer be recording the start/end dates here. By ticking the box it will allow any custom reporting to exclude/include any SCP awards where required.
Today we will begin approving the awards made so far, and we expect this will be completed by the end of the week.
